What is Tantra

At the mention of Tantra, the initial perception that many receive is only sex. The kind of sex that is explicit but pleasurable. The kind many want to secretly indulge in but don’t know how as it has been labelled as a social taboo. Tantra is generally misconceived to be a medieval practice that wreaks havoc in a civilized society and often placed side by side with pornography and also thought to be similar to the works of Kama Sutra.

But Tantra is much more than only physical pleasure. Tantra  dates back to the 5th – 9th century and is a Sanskrit word that means ‘expansion through awareness’ and it is an ancient Eastern cultural tradition from India, China & Nepal, that uses meditation, breathing exercises, yoga and mantras to weave the spiritual and physical in order to heal. The practice of Tantra helps heal past hurt often stored in the sexual centers of the body, so that you can be more present in the moment and be more open to love.

According to André Padoux, an Indologist, researcher and honorary director of the French National Centre for Scientific Research and author of many Indian philosophy publications, Tantra has main elements that are characteristic features to Tantra such as centrality of mantras, importance for a teacher or Guru, revaluation of the body, revaluation of mental states and lastly revaluation of the role and status of women.

But in summary, Tantra is about discovering yourself and discovering your partner to reach a higher realm to attain a state of oneness and bliss. Tantra can be practiced as an individual and together as a couple. Its sole purpose is to connect you to yourself and everything around you and also to connect you to your partner to become in order to become one also called Oneness.

What is Oneness?

Spiritual studies of religions and studies of relationships between man and God or a higher power in different ages, have always talked about Oneness. Oneness is the concept and belief that everything around you is connected to you. That there is no difference between your inner experience and the experience around you as your surroundings is a calibration of your inner experience.

As per Quantum physicists everything in this world is made up of energy and vibrations both visible and the invisible and as human beings we have a physical body form and an energetic form.  And certain researches have made measurements to show our energetic form can influence our physical form.  Our energetic form has energy centers that are parallel to our endocrine glands and are called Chakras

As mentioned above Tantra helps you weave the energetic form into a positive physical form which results in bliss.

“Get over it, and accept the inarguable conclusion. The universe is immaterial-mental and spiritual”  – Richard Conn Henry, Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University (quote taken from “the mental universe”)

“Everything is energy and that’s all there to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” – Albert Einstein – Theoretical Physicist, seven time Nobel Prize winner , Father of Relativity, best known for his world famous mass – energy equation and influential work on Philosophy of science.

“Quantum physics tells us that nothing that is observed is unaffected by the observer. The statement, from science, holds an enormous and powerful insight. It means that everyone sees a different truth, because everyone is creating what they see.” – Neale Donald Walsch

“Quantum physics thus reveals a basic oneness of the universe.” –Erwin Schrodinger, Austrian Nobel Prize Physicist, who developed fundamental results in Quantum Theory.

What is Tantric Sex?

Tantric Sex is the practice of Tantric love making to connect your energetic body to your partner’s energetic body to achieve bliss while removing the negative state of mind of a relationship. It is to flush out the negative to create a more loving and fulfilling relationship with physical pleasure.
