Emotional Detox Trainings VS Other bodywork training:
There are many other massage and bodywork trainings in the market. Most of them focus on releasing physical tension from the body. Here, at Tantric Journey, we focus on releasing both physical and emotional toxins from the body cellular memory. Research shows that physical tension is a manifestation of emotional tension due to past trauma.
Tantric Journey is at the forefront of innovative Emotional Detox bodywork because it is one of the few schools in the world which offer Emotional release using ancient Tantric-Tao bodywork, integrated into a complete educational curriculum. Consequently, the students can explore all aspects of deeper healing, holistic view of the body, including pelvic healing – unlike any other massage modality.
Many other forms of bodywork training out there, do not address the body in this manner, leaving the student confused and frustrated.
Tantric Journey uses simple techniques such as Deep bodywork, which incorporates breath, sound and body movement simultaneously to reprogram the body’s cellular memory to achieve optimal health and well-being.
Most massage modalities focus on the physical symptoms and help to release physical body tension, while at Tantric Journey, we focus on the cause of the symptom and focus on physical body, emotional body and spiritual body.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Tantric Retreat in London offers an intensive introduction to Tantric-Tao bodywork, meditation, movement and emotional self-awareness. Rather than travelling to a rural or overseas venue, participants can experience a structured retreat programme at the Tantric Journey Temple in West London.
The retreat combines theoretical teaching with guided practical exercises. Sessions may include breathwork, mantras, meditation, Trance Dance, passive movement, connection rituals and clothes-on bodywork. Participants are introduced to the principles behind Emotional Detox and explore how breath, sound, movement and conscious touch can be used within the practice.
The days are structured and may include morning, afternoon and evening sessions, so this is more intensive than a short introductory workshop. Time is also provided for demonstrations, supervised practice, questions and personal reflection.
Each participant’s experience will be different. The retreat provides an opportunity to explore the practices in a supportive environment, but no particular emotional, physical or spiritual outcome can be guaranteed.
Yes. The retreat is open to individuals and couples, and no previous experience of Tantra or professional bodywork is required. Participants must be aged 21 or over and willing to engage respectfully with the course structure and other members of the group.
Singles are welcome to attend independently. Some practices may be completed alone, while others may involve working with another participant. Instructions are provided before partner exercises, and participants should communicate their comfort levels and personal boundaries clearly.
Couples may attend together to explore communication, trust, presence and connection away from their usual routines. Depending on the exercise, couples may work together or take part in the broader group. It is helpful to discuss expectations and boundaries with your partner before booking.
The Tantric Retreat in London may also be suitable for massage therapists, bodyworkers, coaches and other practitioners who want to explore the techniques in greater depth. However, the programme should not be viewed as a conventional spa break. It involves active participation, practical learning and potentially intensive personal reflection.
The four-day programme is designed for individuals and couples seeking personal development and an experiential introduction to Emotional Detox through Tantric-Tao bodywork. It includes theoretical teaching, guided meditations, movement, rituals, demonstrations and practical clothes-on bodywork exercises.
During the four days, participants explore the main bodywork sequence and learn about themes such as emotional awareness, body armouring, breath, sound, movement and the circulation of energy. This option may be suitable for those who want an immersive retreat without pursuing practitioner certification.
The seven-day course includes the first four days and continues with additional practical training. The later days focus more closely on supervised exchange sessions, case-study practice, written reports and the requirements associated with the practitioner pathway.
Anyone considering the seven-day option should confirm the current certification requirements before enrolling. Ask what assessments, case studies, additional sessions or follow-up work are required and whether these involve separate fees. A course certificate does not automatically provide a medical, psychotherapeutic, physiotherapy or other state-regulated professional qualification.
The retreat begins with an introduction to Emotional Detox and Tantric bodywork before progressing into guided practical exercises. The programme may include Osho Kundalini Meditation, laughter meditation, Bija mantras, Kirtan, Trance Dance, breathwork, passive yoga movements and heart and soul connection rituals.
Participants are also introduced to a structured clothes-on bodywork sequence. The course description refers to techniques influenced by Chi Nei Tsang, Life Pulse Massage and Karsai Nei Tsang, alongside practices involving breath, sound and conscious movement.
Some sessions focus on body awareness and the ways people may hold physical or emotional tension. Other sessions explore subjects connected with energy, intimacy, pelvic awareness and Tantric philosophy. Demonstrations and explanations should be provided before participants practise the techniques.
The programme includes both active and reflective elements. You may move, meditate, work with a partner, receive bodywork, practise giving a session or participate in group discussions. Because the schedule can involve long training days, participants should be prepared for an intensive experience rather than a relaxed weekend with large amounts of unstructured free time.
The bodywork advertised for the Tantric Retreat in London is carried out with clothing on. Participants should wear loose, comfortable garments that allow them to sit, move, breathe and receive bodywork without feeling restricted.
Before any partner or touch-based practice, the exercise should be explained clearly. You should understand what is involved, which areas of the body may be included and whether the practice can be modified. You may ask questions before deciding whether to participate.
Consent is continuous rather than a one-time agreement. You can decline an activity, request an adjustment, pause, work with a different partner where appropriate or change your mind after an exercise has begun. Agreeing to one practice does not mean that you have agreed to every activity during the retreat.
Participants must also respect the decisions, privacy and personal space of others. Experiences shared during group discussions should remain confidential. Alcohol and recreational drugs are not permitted before or during the training, helping participants remain present and able to make clear decisions about their involvement.
The retreat takes place at the Tantric Journey Temple in West London. This allows people living in or travelling to London to attend an intensive programme without needing to travel abroad.
The course usually runs across several full days, with sessions extending into the evening. Participants should check the current start and finish times before booking and plan their travel accordingly. Staying near the venue may be more convenient than commuting a long distance after an intensive training day.
On-site accommodation may be available as an optional addition, with private and shared room choices subject to availability. Healthy lunches and evening meals may also be booked separately, including vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options. Confirm current prices, room arrangements and dietary provisions directly with the organiser because availability and charges may change.
Bring comfortable clothes, a water bottle, personal toiletries, any essential medication and a notebook if you would like to record reflections. Contact the team in advance regarding mobility requirements, allergies or other practical needs.
The retreat may involve intensive movement, breathwork, bodywork and emotional exploration, so it may not be appropriate for everyone. The current participation guidance states that attendees must be over 21 and should avoid alcohol and recreational drugs for two days before the training and throughout the course.
The programme may not be suitable during the first three months of pregnancy, within six months of major surgery or for people experiencing certain serious physical or mental health conditions. These general restrictions do not replace personalised medical advice.
Consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before booking if you are pregnant, recovering from an operation, taking medication, managing a serious condition or experiencing significant psychological distress. You should also tell the course team about any injuries, mobility limitations or relevant health concerns.
The retreat is not a substitute for medical treatment, psychotherapy, psychiatric care or emergency mental health support. It is an educational and experiential programme. Reviewing the schedule, participation requirements and course boundaries before booking will help you decide whether the retreat is suitable for your circumstances.
