TAOISM – What is it?
Tantric Journey uses a unique therapy that blends the ancient knowledge of Tantra and Tao with body therapy and ground-breaking Western knowledge to create a powerful and transformative form of treatment that is capable of releasing negative emotions held at a cellular level and begin an emotional detox.
This all sounds great, but you may be wondering what Tao is. Well, put simply, a book written in the sixth century that explains the yin (female) and the yang (male) and the flow of energy between them. This is called ch’i and it’s the same life force that flows in the human body. Chi energy is life force energy, the same energy referred to as sexual energy in Tantra.
Harmony is achieved by teaching people how to live within the flux of changing energy. In the book ‘Healing Love through the Tao’ author Mantak Chia explains that in order to live a long and healthy life you need to ‘know how to transform negative energy into positive energy and good feelings.’ Thus transforming negative energy into life force energy: chi.
Basic principles
Taoism recognizes that a major way men lose energy is through ejaculation and that men can have multiple orgasms because orgasm and ejaculation are two separate processes. Indeed love making is not the source of the loss of energy, but the ejaculation of semen which simply put, is a series of contractions that pump the semen out with the feeling of orgasm happening in the brain and the two acts capable of being able to happen independently of each other.
Tao teaches men to orgasm without ejaculation. Indeed Tao teachings look to teach men and women the art of true orgasm, this is not the ‘outward orgasm’ at genital level, but the art of the man and woman bringing their ‘hormones into harmony’ and experiencing a full body and mind orgasm. Men are taught to separate ejaculation and orgasm and treat them as two separate function.
Lessons to learn
Tao is usually translated into English as “the Way.” Tao could be seen as being a path – a natural path or way.
Everything in life has a natural rhythm and flow and Tao teaches you to embrace this natural way or order of things.
Just like the seasons of the year there are seasons of life. We all go through natural lifecycles and whilst we may be aware of some of them such as monthly menstruation and then menopause, we remain unaware of some of the necessary yet subtler life cycles we undergo.
Taoism helps us to remember to reconnect with these cycles and teaches us to embrace them, dance to the rhythms, and work with rather than against the flow of change.
One lesson of Taoism is don’t resist – to resist change means to fight nature and nature is bigger than any one individual so we will not win and will come out damaged from the battle.
The Tao is the natural order of things, the flow, the way things are and the constant ebb and change of things.
Tao recognises that male desire is easier to ignite and quick to burn out, while females take longer but tend to last longer. It looks at bringing the male and female into harmony with each other and preserving the chi energy.
Taoism is the call to embrace the natural flow of nature. The lesson is that we need to learn to live in harmony with nature and that we need to learn to reconnect to our bodies and listen what they are telling us so that we can restore the natural harmony.
