How Can You Clear Negative Emotions?
We have all had days when we just feel emotionally drained or feel like we are in a destructive negative cycle of emotions. When you consider that our bodies contain a biological blue print of the events that have taken place since our birth – whether positive or negative it is suddenly quite understandable that we can come to feel overwhelmed by emotions and to see the need for emotional detox.
Mal Weeraratne author of ‘Emotional Detox –through Bodywork’ explains that, ‘‘negative emotions are stored as negative energy in the cells of the body. If the body is filled with negative emotions there is no free flow of positive energy therefore causing unbalance. When the body’s energy systems become blocked it creates an accumulation of negative energy that manifest into emotional, physical and psychological disease.’’
Many of these blocks can start early on in our childhood, with the negative or conflicting messages we receive and tuck away due to lack of permission to express ourselves honestly. Past negative events such as difficult relationships, bullying, rejection, any kind of subject to inappropriate behaviour, loss of a loved one and physically, emotionally, psychologically or sexually induced past negative events, even like a car accident can also cause emotional energy to become trapped within our bodies. When this happens the negative emotion is recorded and stored within our bodies cellular memory. Over time, this creates a kind of armour in the bodies energy field, blocking the natural flow of joy, abundance and peace, which is our natural state of being. When we are born we are designed to be in a blissful state, however, the blockages cause disharmony and make us unable to fully experience harmony and joy.
Releasing emotional energy in your body is necessary for your overall well-being and good health. Mal Weeraratne has treated over 3,000 clients from around the globe and has taught hundreds of practitioners his unique blend of Tantric Tao bodywork which works deeply to clear out not only the stored cellular memory but to rejuvenate and energise the whole system with revitalising sexual energy. After treatment many Tantric Journey clients have reported an increased sense of calm, openness and joy.
Listed below are four ways to release negative emotions from the body as per the Tantra and Tao teachings to keep your body’s energy system in balance with in-harmony chakras and energy channels:
1. Deep Bodywork to evoke emotions and to relax the body:
Bodywork relaxes the muscles by loosening the muscles to release physical toxins stored in the layer of muscles and tissues. Blocked lymph fluid and other toxins are loosened to be flushed out of the body. Also bodywork creates the physical platform of free flowing energy channels for the body’s energetic systems allowing the release of negative emotions and removing energetic blockages. Bodywork opens up the body’s cells to release negative energy and allow positive energy to take residence.
2. Deep breathing to release evoked emotions:
Breathing circulates air and heat energy which also removes the released negative energythrough bodywork and therefore during exhalation releases negative energy and during inhalation brings in positive energy.
3. Sounds to disperse emotions through expressions :
The negative energy is released in the form of sound through expression of emotions that arise during the bodywork. These emotions are mental triggers that could evoke memories that have been stacked away a very long time ago.
4. Body movements to disperse stagnant negative emotions and to make way for the positive emotions to flow freely:
Subtle body movements are encouraged during the bodywork to release trapped negative emotions. The release of negative emotions on a constant basis makes you resilient to stress, physically healthy and gives you a balanced mind, body, connection. A body free of negative emotions is connected to the inner self constantly navigating the individual towards a positive life
Tantric Journey bodywork offers a very deep form of emotional detox through bodywork that can get to the root of a negative emotion problem; the treatment draws on ancient wisdom, but also uses new modern scientific understanding. Many of us tend to separate our physical and emotional bodies, seeing them as two separate entities; however, the reality is that our emotions and physical well-being are interconnected and interdependent. So if you feel oppressed by negative emotions such as fear, anxiety, anger, shame, low self-esteem, worthlessness, or depression and are open to discovering a way to overcome them ;that requires no medication nor psychotherapy then it may be time to examine the theory of how the body stores emotions. Dr. Candace Pert, who was chief of brain biochemistry at the National Institutes of Health explained that emotions are not simply chemicals in the brain. They are electrochemical signals that affect the chemistry and electricity of every cell in the body. The body’s electrical state is modulated by emotions, changing the world within the body.
It is certain that the mind and body are interconnected and it has been scientifically proven that whatever happened to one affects the other. This means that what we think affects the way we feel and how we feel affects the way we think. If we wish to change the way we feel in the body then we must tackle the way we think, thus optimum well-being can only be achieved by tackling our negative emotions and this is where emotional detox through deep bodywork can be very useful tools.
